Make the Game Feel More Alive


Focus:

In this new iteration the main focus was to make the game more alive. Improvements were done to make sure the game and the environment react a bit more to the player and give better information.

Changes:

  • Added sakura leaves to the environment to make the game feel less static



  • Added particles around the characters when they were hit so it's more perceptible if it is a good hit or not



  • Made the blocks behind the characters shake when they were hit to give extra power to the hit of a weapon



  • Made the characters disappear smoothly when a group is made so the interaction is more pleasant

  • Added a warning telling the player he reached the last level of the mission so in case he just pressed next level all the time he knows that it is reaching the end of the mission
  • Made all the game buttons have hover effects so they react to the player
  • Made the weapons turn black when their quantity reaches zero so it's more obvious for the player

  • Made the score differences bigger and with colors to simplify the perception if the score is good or bad and to make it more visible

  • Fixed some sound bugs
